Tyler's Birthday Party & Annalee's Room

I am behind, but last weekend we went to Tyler Harrison's 1st Birthday and Grandpa Hop finished Annalee's room (don't have any pics of Annalee's room completed yet, but the curtains are up so it'll be soon!). MK wanted to "help" Hop and didn't like the door shut. She is obsessed with doors!

We had a great time at the birthday, MK ate 2 pieces of pizza! She played with the kids, was obsessed with the twin newborns and loved the "baboons." However, she quickly melted down, starting with a shove from a baby who was just cruising. Then she didn't want to do anything and had a full on meltdown when we tried to give her a cupcake and ice cream. She does not like cake/icing (I even took it home and tried to give it to her later). She sat down on the kitchen floor in the middle of all the adults (and kids) and laid on her stomach and started crying with big crocodile tears. It was time to leave a little early! She kept waving bye and saying "door." This is what she does when she has had it. We went home and she happily ate two giant pieces of cantaloupe and went straight to her crib for a nap. She laid down immediately and said "night night." She knows what she wants! Leslie took a picture of the horrible temper fit so I hope to post it when she sends it....of course the adults thought it was a little humorous (and a bit embarrassing).

Valentine's Party & Festivities

I am late getting these pics up-last Friday Mary Katherine went to baby Stella's Valentine's Party in the cul de sac with some of her other neighborhood friends-Cameron, Colin, Brooke, Wyatt, Chandler, Mattie, Gracie, Mayson, Bridger, Jack and Reese. Most of them are older and they are very sweet to MK. I couldn't get MK to decorate her box of Valentine's-she was very into Mayson's little tykes car (we are on the lookout for one at sales) and also the Putzer's dog Nellie. She did have her first marshmallow, raisin and m & m and did fine. No choking here.
After her party, we took her over to my parents house and Jay and I had a nice dinner at our favorite restaurant Lucia's. Like most parents, I can't tell you the last time we had a special dinner alone. It was delicious! On Saturday (the real day), we gave Mary Katherine her gifts-a stuffed dog holding heart and a big bunch of pink, red, purple and white helium balloons. Oh did she love them-she carried them around all day and even slept with them during her nap and ate with them in the highchair. We let her have her fun since we knew they'd be deflated in about 8 hours. My mom ("C") to MK brought over a big Valentine's basket full of goodies for her inlcuding a silver duck charm bracelet and a mini Paddington bear tea set. They were so adorable. My dad was over all day working on Annalee's room and he has been back everyday since. Today he is painting-I am so happy I don't have to bend over with my huge stomach!

30 weeks....

I thought I'd udpate on the pregnancy since I haven't really since we found out we were having a girl at 16 weeks. My 30 week checkup was on Tuesday-I have gained 20 lbs total (I am now bigger than I was the day I delivered MK!) and I am measuring 31 1/2 weeks. The doctor assured me that the baby won't be late and I won't have to go 8 days past my due date. He could feel the head through my tummy and she is a big girl. Just "perfect" so he said. I was underweight till January when I put on 8 lbs in 4 weeks, and then between 28 and 30 weeks I put on 2 more lbs. I am eating all the time, everything in sight. I love healthy food, but I have been "sneaking" donuts from Publix, McD's hamburgers, Chick-fil-a fried sandwiches and a lot of pasta and ice cream. I was trying to do better and drink more water and eat less salt/sugar when my wonderful friend Traci brought me 3 heart cookies from her son's bday snack at Goddard. I ate 2 immediately, they were sooooo amazing, from a girl in our neighborhood who has a business! Everything is going well, Mary Katherine is precious and definitely curious about everything. We have been enjoying the weather and have been outside everyday this week. This weekend my dad and Jay are putting up the bead board, crown molding and new baseboards in Annalee's room-I have to do one more coat of paint tonight! I will post a pic later of my tummy...I never do that!!!

Touchdown!

After a disappointing day at the farm on Saturday, we were ready for Superbowl Sunday!!! After church we pigged out at Relish on the brunch buffet. For anyone who hasn't been, it is fabulous-shrimp & grits, salmon, krispy kreme pudding and eggs benedict biscuits just to name a few! After a nap, we headed over to Erin & Matt's for the first half. Mary Katherine had so much fun playing with Hannah, Wes and Tanner. She tried to keep up with the boys and follow them around with trains. Then stopped by my parents' house for their larger than life superbowl party-they had about 60+ people over! We ate even more food (pulled pork and sausage and sauerkraut) and desserts. They had 2 betting boards-one for halftime and one for final score. The neighbor's 15 year old daughter one the halftime board! My mom is from a small town near Pittsburgh orginally and is a HUGE Steelers fan. It is ridiculous. I had to order a special banner for the house. They had the game on in the basement media room, the family room and the upstairs media room. Of course they were ecstatic when the Steelers won. We definitely had MK out past her bedtime and she was loving it! She was dancing and showing off by doing her "touchdown" dance. She also loved the football "baboons" as usual.

Mary Katherine (this is random) at night-she refused to take off her new Pedipeds. So, I let her wear them to bed.

Instructions for the very serious superbowl party...

Go Steelers!

Tanglewood Farm

This past Saturday we were going up to Canton to buy a dresser for MK (since we are moving her dresser into Annalee's room) and we decided to stop by Tanglewood Farm so MK could see all the miniature farm animals. It wasn't too cold and we thought she would LOVE it since she loved the animals at Berry Patch Farms. Well, at Tanglewood you go in the pens with them and they are VERY friendly because they want you to feed them the bread that you have in your little pail. MK did NOT like the animals when they started coming up to her and she did not want her free pony ride at the end either. Jay and I really enjoyed the animals, especially the tiny goats. Jay wanted to put one in his coat and bring it home. Check out the pictures of the animals, especially the rabbits (which by the way were not miniature, they were huge!).
