Anna's Birthday Party

Today all four of us went to our little friend Anna Bardeen's 1st birthday party. The girls sported matching dresses and we actually got some decent pictures. Mary Katherine had a blast and actually ate/liked cake for the first time. She kept saying "cake, mmm...." over and over. Many of you know how she has had various meltdowns at several parties where she has been offered cake and she didn't particularly like it at her own party! I was thinking it would be great if she didn't like it, but darn she does now! :)

One Month????

What? Annalee is already a month old-yes, she'll be four weeks in about an hour! I sound like every other mother, but really, where does time go? Last night Annalee celebrated by sleeping SIX straight hours-from 12 am-6 am. And then she went back to sleep after eating till 9!!! Yeah! That was also the most I have slept in a month. Here are some pictures, you have to love the ones where she is crying (she has tummy issues) and MK is trying desperately to comfort her. Annalee has been an absolute delight and we love her so much. I could go on and on about how "perfect" she is, but I am her mom so I am not going to bore everyone! Jay has given her a nickname-"Noodle" and we also call her "Mighty Mouse" because she looks like him! Actually she looks a little like my brother John did when he was a baby. Dark hair and darker skin than the rest of us. Maybe I think that because I would like to remember John-I hope she continues to resemble him.

Mother's Day and Today

I still can't believe that I am a mom and that I get to celebrate Mother's Day! I always think of my mom on that day and forget that it is my day too. This year was special for many reasons-I have two precious daughters, a wondeful husband and a loving extended family that was in town. We really just relaxed and hung out at my parents' house and ate a great meal. Mary Katherine and Annalee "surprised" me with a sweet photo card of them with MK's "colourrring" on it (that is what she calls it) and a gift certficate for a half day at Renew Day Spa which includes a facial, a massage and foot/hand treatements. Question is when will I get to go? The weekends have been booked and have been anything but restful around here! I also took Annalee with me to Old Navy and went on a shopping spree while Jay hung out with my brothers and MK napped at my parents. It was great to take my time and try on about 50 things-and get some tankinis for the pool that is opening in a week! Annalee did wake up and I had to nurse in the dressing room so it did take awhile! Thanks Jay and my babies for making it a wonderful day. Next month is Dad's turn!

Today I had my end of year brunch with my Mom's Group at church. We all brought delicious brunch foods and took our todders to the nursery so we could have some girl time. Annalee stayed with me-too young for the nursery. An hour and a half went by too quick-of course I was 30 minutes late due to Bentley-he escaped and I had to drive around the Woodlands trying to coax him into the car. He was so bad and kept running away then would follow the car then run away again. Finally he followed me back to our house and I snatched him up and put him in the backyard. Normally I would be so furious but I was so exhausted I didn't even care. The girls are asleep now so I am going to go get some housework done and possibly some sewing......

ps-sewing never happened!

Lake Martin & Auburn Graduation

This past week and weekend have been chaos! On Tuesday my cousin Jesse flew in from Chicago to visit and stayed at my parents. On Friday we all headed to Lake Martin (near Auburn for Max's graduation on Saturday. My parents' builder is an Auburn grad and has an awesome house on Lake Martin that they rented for us to stay in for the graduation. It was so nice and huge-5 bedrooms-so we could all fit! My aunt Carol and uncle John flew in from Ohio on Friday and Will drove from Tuscaloosa for the graduation. We weren't there very long but we had a blast. We hadn't seen Jesse or Carol in 4 years or John in 1 year so it was wonderful to spend some much needed time with them. Jay, MK, Annalee and I technically didn't go to graduation because it was in the coliseum and with all the germs/swine flu, etc...we didn't want to expose a newborn and an 18 month old. So we all headed back to Atlanta Saturday afternoon. We were beat! The party continued today...that will be another post. We had a blast and are exhausted!

Sisters

Mary Katherine finally asked if she could hold Annalee. Annalee is hungry so she is crying-but it didn't phase Mary Katherine! She has held her quite a bit but I haven't been able to grab the camera except for on one occasion.
