Santa Visit #1

This year we saw several Santas. In addition our annual tradition of seeing the "real" Santa at Phipps, we also visited Santa at the Jr. League of Atlanta Holly Jolly Breakfast at the Ritz and also at the Wentz's Santa Breakfast in the neighborhood (MK sat this one out!). Each visit entailed Mary Katherine screaming bloody murder and Annalee staring at Santa with a bewildered look (and often tugging his beard and collar)!
The first set featured here is from the Holly Jolly Breakfast:

Beach Break

We were lucky enough to escape to the condo at Tops'l over Thanksgiving break. We desperately needed to get away and also to enjoy some quality family time. The weather was a little warmer than here and the beach was so beautiful! We walked on the beach, played, swam, Christmas shopped, ate, strolled Baytowne and were able to get a great shot of the girls for our Christmas card! Mary Katherine's favorite thing to do is to go to the Baytowne village across the street in Sandestin. For the holidays they have Christmas decorations, a makeshift ice skating rink (too little this year) and a fire pit with smores to roast in the courtyard. Everytime MK woke up from a nap or in the morning the first thing she said was "Go Baytowne, eat lunch" or "Go Baytowne, eat dinner." We appreciate our vacations there so much and cannot wait to go back:)

Happy Halloween!

Mary Katherine and Annalee celebrated Halloween for a whole week! Mary Katherine wore her "western" wear to school on Wednesday, where she sported some great looking pink cowboy boots and a pink bandana (many thanks to Sara for lending us Mayson's boots and to Libby for the bandana-10 pm the night before!). She wore big girl jeans for the first time, which surprised us, as most mornings she says "no jeans" and bats them away! At school the kids rode on a hayride to a "pumpkin patch" on the church property and picked out mini pumpkins and sang songs. They also had sheep, goats, chickens and pigs from a local farm come visit. Mary Katherine loved the animals but did NOT want to go anywhere near them! Wednesday night was the fall festival at church-we took Mary Katherine and Annalee dressed in their ladybug costumes. On Saturday Mary Katherine went to Caroline's 1st bday party brunch in the morning and then classmate Katelyn's costume birthday party. In the late afternoon we all went to baby Fletcher's 1st birthday party (as the ladybugs again). And finally the day ended with Jay taking Mary Katherine trick or treating to a few houses in the neighborhood while Annalee and I passed out candy. Can we say sugar??? We all had so much fun spending time with all our good friends:) Good thing we had an extra hour to sleep before church Sunday morning:)

Surprise!

Last Saturday night, Jay and close friends surprised me with a little early 30th birthday get together at Meehan's in Sandy Springs! I was sick all day with a stomach bug and Jay had to drag me out of bed-I am so happy I went. I had the best time despite my tummy and I know it is hard for everyone to get sitters and plan a night out! Thanks to world's greatest husband for organzing and working hard on this and to Erin H.& her sister Paige (who is the GM at Meehan's). They even had a special drink menu made just for our party! Thanks again to Jay and all my close friends for celebrating, it means a lot to me (I won't technically be 30t till the 26th so I do have a few more days left in my 20's!) You guys are the best!

Annalee-6 months!

Our baby Annalee is 6 months old! She goes to the doctor this Thursday for her 6 month checkup and first flu shot (Mary Katherine is going for her 2 year checkup at the same time). Annalee is such a laid back, low-maintenance baby who just wants to be included and she is content! She loves Mary Katherine and stares at her and laughs with her. She wants all of Mary Katherine's big girl toys and shows no interest in baby toys-her favorite is the Fisher Price camper (thanks Allison and Madden!). Of course everything goes in her mouth! Annalee is eating solids like a champ and sucking down bottles-she likes to eat like her sister:) We love our LeeLee (new nickname) so much!!!!
