Happy Halloween!

Mary Katherine's "1st" Halloween (she was only a few weeks old on her real first Halloween, so we're going to consider this her 1st) was so much fun! She ended up loving her duck costume after throwing it several times during the week when we tried to show it to her. She was so excited and knew something fun was up. We ate pizza with several other families we are friends with in their cul-de-sac and then went trick-or-treating in a rather large group with several strollers, push cars and wagons (as one of the kids called, the "Halloween bus"). We even had several small babies in their Halloween rompers all bundled up! Jay was a scary gorilla and some of the little boys wanted him to chase them, but then they got too scared and wanted to wear his mask and hands and chase him! Luckily MK was already used to the mask and it didn't really phase her. She was too excited being pushed around in her car, eating crazy bread from Little Caesar's and having her first dum dum (with supervision of course). The sugar made her wild! We actually made it to about 30 houses with her and went home because we were tired! She held on to a bag of skittles most of the time and had no idea what to do with them but loved holding them. Here are some pictures of our little duck and other little friends.ps-Big Congrats to Ker and Pat on their Halloween baby, Fletcher Joseph!!! He is PRECIOUS!

Birthday and Baby Guess!

Well, today I had a wonderful 29th birthday with family and friends. Jay, Mary Katherine and I went to church and then went out to lunch at Magnolia with Kerrie and Pat (Kerrie is due in 3 days!). Then we walked around Roswell just for a bit and came home to rest. We went to my parents' house for a fabulous dinner of stuffed mushrooms, artichoke dip, salad, crab cakes, asparagus, twice baked potatoes and homemade apple pie! We are stuffed! I bought some maternity clothes for my gift from Jay last week and received a beautiful Cole Haan purse from my parents. Mary Katherine was so precious at lunch-she was showing off for Patrick since he gives her lots of attention. Thank you to everyone for all the nice voicemail, happy birthday songs on the answering machine and facebook messages!

On a side note, I almost forgot my favorite game-expect net! We are finding out a week from tomorrow (Monday, Nov. 3rd) the sex of the baby! So, here is the link if you would like to guess if I already haven't sent you an annoying email:)

One Year Checkup and Visit to Auburn

On Tuesday Mary Katherine had her one year checkup. She had three shots which she hated but was fine afterwards. To keep her happy during the exam (she hates the stethoscope and the ear thing) she was eating bunny grahams and offered one to Dr. Hassel after she calmed down. Mary Katherine only grew half an inch since 9 month up to 29 1/2 inches and is just shy of 24 lbs! Big girl is on adult milk and doing great! We are still on the bottle (first trick was letting go of formula) and the next move is trying the sippy cup again. She LOVES the bottle, it is so comforting to her and tough to take away, but I know we can do it.

On Wednesday we went with my parents to visit my brother Max in Auburn for a few hours. We went out to eat at a place called Amsterdam Cafe, it was fabulous! MK loves her Uncle "Mac" as she tries to say. Here are some pics from the week:

Berry Patch Farms

Mary Katherine was feeling much better on Saturday afternoon so we took her to Berry Patch Farms since she goes wild over our pumpkins on the front porch. She had a blast on the hayride, climbing all over the pumpkins in the patch, petting the baby animals and eating part of a homemade fried apple pie! I think Jay and I had just as much fun and will probably take her back again this month since it is so close, and I want some more of that delicious cider! Daddy went crazy and took about 100 pictures, so I'll try to narrow it down to the best. For those of you who got my giant shutterfly album, I apologize! To us doting parents they were all so cute
ps-The picture of MK crying was when we were leaving. She did not want to leave the baby cow!

Munchkin's Real Birthday

Wednesday, Oct. 8th was Mary Katherine's real birthday. We celebrated my cooking dinner and having my parents over. Of course, MK had no idea what was going on, but she sure did like Cindy and Hopper pushing her on the Fisher Price schoolbus from Connie & John. She is obsessed with the lights and music and must have them on at all times. She also loves to open and close the seat and hide her little stuffed kitty in there. For dinner we had chicken divan (organic, I am proud to say-we are trying to be very healthy) and salad. Since Mary Katherine wasn't a fan of birthday cake, I got her a fruit tart from Harry's/Whole Foods with blueberries, blackberries and raspberries on it. She ate every single berry off it and then took a few licks of the custard. Much better idea! My parents also brought her three new books-one of which is Each Peach Pear Plum-one of my childhood favorites!

1st Birthday Party Weekend!

This past weekend made for a fun and exhausting time! On Friday, Aunt Allison and Caleb and Madison and also Grandpa John and Grandma Connie came from Nashville for the birthday party. Mary Katherine really loved playing with Caleb all weekend-they really get along and are such little buddies! Saturday was the big party day-I would like to think MK understood all the commotion but I do not think she did. She loved all the kids and the balloons. She goes nut when she sees balloons -'"OOOOOOHHHH!". Right now she is obsessed with ducks so I decorated her cake with rubber ducks and she went nuts for them. She could have cared less about the actual cake. However she loved the kiddie food and had 2 servings-fruit cups, chick fil a nuggets and cookie cutter sandwiches. I am sure she also filled up on goldfish and chips!
All her little friends were there (and I wish I would have gotten more pictures)-her cousins, Lucy, John Miller, Morgan, Wesley, Hannah, Madden, Makenzie, Austin, Anna, Reese, Weston and Grant (his mommy came for him b/c he was sick). We missed some of our other buddies due to sicknesses and out of town visits:( I hope everyone is feeling better!
We opened gifts after most people left with just our families and some close friends-the Morans, the Horners and the Longs. Well, actually Caleb opened most of them for MK because he was so sweet and excited and she has no idea what was going on. She LOVED all her gifts once they were opened however. They are all over the house and she has been in heaven. Thank you so much everyone for your kindness and generosity-it was too much! We are just happy that everyone could be here to celebrate with us. Today we turned MK's carseat around (she won't be one till Wednesday, but we thought it was ok) and she watched her new Curious George DVD on the way to Lucy's baptism and didn't miss a second (thanks Wesley and Hannah!).
One more thing-I want to say a big CONGRATULATIONS to our friends Sally and Joey Stabile who welcomed their third child (and first daughter!) Stella Maria Stabile early Saturday morning around 3:30 am. Sally actually sent me an email from Northside telling me she was in labor and she was sorry they'd be missing the party! What a mulit-tasker! We can't wait to see pictures of
Stella and hope everyone is doing well.
Here are a lot of pics. They are all out of order (notice MK wearing her slip in the first pic-after cake)-also some are from Friday night.

Lucy and Hannah!

I am so behind, but I wanted to a little shout out to two of my good friends who delivered their little girls recently. Liz had baby Lucy Peg Horner on August 27 (ok, not so recently!) and Erin had baby Hannah Paige on September 15. You can check out pics of Hannah on her blog at harrisonbulldogs.blogspot.com. They are both beautiful and I am so happy for my friends! Can't wait to see you guys again soon!
